An RFI is a document used to gather information to help determine future steps. It can be used to confirm the interpretation of a detail, specification, or note on construction drawings, to secure a documented directive or clarification from the owner, or to request additional information needed for construction.
This representative from the project team is responsible for directing created RFIs and NCRs to the appropriate parties (Technical Reviewers for RFI and Responsible parties for NCR).
Reviewer(s) in the RFI process are responsible for reviewing the RFI and providing a technical response. This individual is typically the Engineer of Record (EoR) or client representative.
Acceptor(s) in the RFI process are responsible for accepting the Technical Response of the RFI. Typically, this role is filled by the RFI coordinator, but may also include other interested parties such as consultants, clients, jurisdictional authorities, or subcontractors.
A Project Administrator has a higher level of access than a normal user in the ETHOS application. They can help set up users and define their roles and responsibilities for a project. Project Administrators can also override certain actions as needed in the RFI/NCR process when required.
This cost code is associated with costs that your company is not directly responsible for (e.g., a cost code that captures quality personnel monitoring and inspecting rework to a subcontractor's rework is a cost to the project team that your company is not liable for and would be passed on to the subcontractor).
